Life Moment: Merry Christmas!

Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” – Isaiah 7:14

God not only tells us what He will do, but He accomplishes it too. The birth of Jesus is the ultimate example of this. I never get tired of reading or listening to the nativity story. Whenever this time of year comes, I feel calm, peaceful and comforted. God is the ultimate promise keeper and Jesus is the fulfillment of His promise.

Around this time of year, we all are busy cooking, cleaning, gift wrapping and you tend to forget the truth behind all the commotion. Don’t allow the hustle and grind of life doubt His words. As you spend this Christmas Eve preparing for family, friends, and great laughter, spend tonight dwelling on his outstanding miracle. Prepare yourself for tomorrow, try to capture Christ being born.

This is more than just a Christmas story. This is the story of our Savior Jesus Christ having a powerful impact from the very beginning. His presence in our lives is worth treasuring. We must treasure it more than we treasure the gifts and love we will receive on tomorrow. As you treasure seeing family and loved ones this holiday weekend, treasure Jesus all the more. As precious as other memories that will be made tomorrow will be, nothing will ever come close to what He offers!

Whether aloud or silent, say “Thank you, Lord, for sacrificing so much so you can enjoy this upcoming celebration.” Before you plan your holiday outfit, carve the family turkey, reminisce on the wonder of Christ being born. Walk confidently today knowing that the greatest of greats were born today for all. Through Jesus, all things are made possible. God’s promise to save mankind from their sin was fulfilled today. God chose simple, ordinary people to be involved in this miraculous event. God never looks at the outward appearance of people. He looks at their hearts (1 Samuel 16:7). God is always extending an invitation to be a part of His Plan – only if you believe.

Merry Christmas!
